Classification and working principle of constant power heating cable

Author:

The power output of the constant power electric heating tape is always constant after power is turned on. It will not change with the external environment, insulation materials, or heating materials. The power output or stop is usually controlled by a temperature sensor.

Product Categories

1. Parallel constant power electric heating cable

Parallel electric heating belt, this electric heating belt is composed of two (or three) parallel insulated copper strands as the power busbar, the PTC characteristic heating wire is wound on the frame, and the busbars are alternately connected every other heating section to form a continuous parallel resistor. The use length of this electric heating belt is about 10-800 meters.

2. Series constant power electric heating cable

Series heating tape, this heating tape uses three parallel insulated copper strands with the same cross-sectional area and a certain length as the power bus and heating core wire, one end of which is reliably short-circuited, and the other end is connected to a 380V (or designed voltage) power supply, forming a star load. According to Joule-Lenz law: Q=0.24IRT, the electric energy is converted into heat energy. The star load continuously releases heat to form a continuous and uniformly heated heating tape. According to actual needs, the three phases (single phase) of the heating tape can be separated (split type) or integrated into one. The length of this heating tape cannot be too short, generally about 500-2500 meters.

working principle

Parallel constant power electric heating cable

Structure: The resistance wire is connected in parallel, and when it works, it heats the pipeline by generating heat from the resistance wire.

Principle: Two parallel nickel-copper stranded wires are wrapped in a fluoride insulation layer as the power busbar, and a nickel-chromium alloy heating wire is wound outside the inner insulation layer. The heating wires are welded at fixed intervals to form a continuous parallel resistor. When the power copper busbar is energized, the parallel resistors heat up, forming a continuous heating electric belt that can be cut arbitrarily.

Series constant power electric heating cable

Structure: The resistance wire is connected in series, and when it works, it heats the pipeline by generating heat from the resistance wire.

Principle: The series electric heating cable uses an insulated copper stranded wire as the power busbar, that is, the heating core wire. When a core wire with a certain internal resistance passes through the current core wire, Joule heat will be generated (Joule-Lenz law Q=0.24I\S2^;Rt), and its size is proportional to the square of the current, the core wire resistance and the passing time. Therefore, as the power-on time continues, the series electric heating cable will continuously emit heat to form a continuous and uniformly heated electric heating cable. The core wires of the series electric heating cable have the same current and equal resistance, so the entire electric heating cable is evenly heated from beginning to end, and its output power is constant and is not affected by the ambient temperature and pipeline temperature.
